Devin Tant Working Towards
Eagle Scout Designation
Devin Tant, 15 year old son of George and Sandy Tant of Stockbridge, is a member of McDonough Boy Scout Troop 1168 and is currently working on a major personal goal. Already possessing approximately 30 Merit Badges, Tant is attempting to earn the top designation in Scouting, that of Eagle Scout.
His current project in this effort is for the City of McDonough. He is constructing three concrete pads in Rufus Stewart Park for three restored city benches. Devin and member Scouts refinished the older benches before beginning construction of the pads.
“It’s a great honor to be an Eagle Scout, and it will give me certain opportunities for careers in the future,” said Tant when asked why he personally wanted to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. This would make the second member of Troop 1168 that has earned this designation. Scoutmaster Mike Katona’s oldest son, Josh, became an Eagle Scout approximately 2 years ago.
Boy Scout Troop 1168 meets in McDonough and invites anyone, 101/2– 17 years of age and interested in Scouting, to call Scoutmaster Katona at 404-376-6260.

This project counts towards Tant realizing his goal of becoming an Eagle Scout. Public Works employee Marshall Battle (Front, Right) assists with the project.
